Nightlife is limited between Monday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday offer a vast amount of entertainment. However please be careful about areas you visit. The major hotels organize shows by visiting singers, musicians and dancers. There are numerous bars and clubs in town, some have discos. Bazaars, fairs and casinos, which may require an entrance fee.
There are numerous taverns, called "bottle stores" in Malawi, which mostly serve the Chibuku and Napolo Ukana beers, which are made by fermenting maize and millet. International imports have meant you can also get majority of worldwide beers which are more expensive than the local brewed Carlsberg. Average beer costs are around $0.97.
